Car Acronyms

Right then folks gotta bit of strange one here, need your help to end along on going work debate..... what do the follwing mean and please no silly comments just actual answers if you can, cheers Matt....

Ti (from a bmw compact) =
Sri =
Gsi =
GTi =
GTe =
RS = Rallye Sport

Im thinking

Ti = Twin Injection?

Sri = Sport Rallye Injection?

their the main ones i need to know... any ideas?

the compacts are based on the same design chassis as the saloon/coupe versions ie. E36, E46. however, BMW cannot call them 318i's or 325i's because the saloon/coupe's are called 318i's, 325i's, etc; they are therefore known as 318Ti's and 325Ti's, etc. this seperates them from saloon/coupe models.

the 'T' doesnt actually stand for anything as far as i know, it just seperates them from others of that series.

BMW no longer make Compacts or Ti's anymore, as the launch of the E87 (the 1 Series) has replaced the compact

im not a car geek, i just get told this on product knowledge courses that i have to attend due to my job!! i work for a BMW dealership

oh yeah, i forgot to add that RS as in Ford RS Turbo, stands for Rouse Sport, after its founder John Rouse (an entrepeneur in the rallying industry and one of fords greatest investments!)

ok, maybe i am a little bit of a car geek!!

but i dont know sod all about vauxhalls...
