E30 Zone

Hi - Sometimes after turning the key nothing happened. In order to start the engine I had to turn and press in towards the barrel. I tried 2 replacement ignition switches but could not get the car to start at all with them. I have re-fitted the old one and I can get it to start but on about 3 attempts and still pressing in.

I can see the ignition shaft is turning and extending.

Any other suggestions of what to try?
