After 3 months of hard work was not what I was hoping for! It's running lumpy like a tractor I replaced a ht lead with my old m40 but switched it back but it's basically shaking the whole car..?
Help

I did a motronic 1.3 conversion as well, I grounded the green black off the starter and the heaters worked.. Really need the car today as I'm going on hol

Check the connector plug to the injectors under the inlet manifold; corrosion or broken wires often set in so you only get half the injectors firing, or worse, none at all.

2, 4 and 6 are one complete set, so the above is more than likely.

Fuels getting through defo, I removed the plugs and they were wet just no spark on 2 4 and 6 I used my old m40 leads and replaced two as they were looking oldish replaced with genuine bremi leads though?
Firing order not right?

You might be getting fuel, but are ALL the injectors firing?
As said above being the round connector under the inlet

Checked plug no corrosion all wires are good were inspected prior to fitting and refurbed by injectortune
Injector is defo throwing fuel out switched cps and CID leads didn't start so that's fine

I'm using the original injector electrical connectors though of that makes a difference? Posted a thread up if there was a different between motronic 1 and 1.3?
Wires and plugs go to the same so...

I'am sure you have checked but what condition is the Rotor arm and Dissy cap in?
When it warms up is it any better?

A fooked Blue temp sensor or wiring makes it run like a dog when cold, had a few e30s like that. any better when warm ?

Missed that bit Injector loom clipped onto the injectors properly, i did this with my m30 more door, ran lumpy on 5 all it needed was a firm press down on the injector connectorand all was good

Don't know what I've done but tinkering with it it's now sparking on all 6 but still lumpy, only other thing I can think of is timings out somehow? Or firing orders wrong
It hesitates when revved and car shakes on idle

Perhaps try a new ignition coil, or at least check the connections to it.
If the ECU has been opened up, it is possible there is a fault with the spark driver transistors on cyls 2, 4 and 6. Which ECU is it, e.g., 0 261 200 173.

Yep 173 ecu mate, I've opened it up again and inspected it can't see any issues no burnt out resistors or anything, I've gone around used connector cleaner on all connections it's now sparking on all 6 I've changed the fuel injector loom to the one I got with the motronic 1.3 kit and it seems to idle and run slightly better,
However its still shaking the car as if it were misfiring or running on three when I open the throttle it hesitates and drops,

Did you try pushing the Injector loom onto the injectors, if you have had it off its an easy mistake to make.

Don't forget you should initialise the ECU by letting it idle for at least 10 minutes to enable base idle settings to be learnt, then switch off, then take it for a drive thoughout the rev range.
If you haven't done this, disconnect the ECU or battery for an hour or so to reset it, then go through the initialisation procedure.

yeah injector loom was just replaced mate nothing to do with those at all,
cool will let the car idle and give that a go,

Double checked that you plugged the HT leads into the proper spot on the cap?

yeah i might grab some new leads however...
i just realised im using my m40 ignition coil? iirc i read somewhere that all e30 ignition coils are the same true or false?

Yes, a search on RealOEM reveals that M40B18 and M20B25 coils are identical part numbers.

cool so its not that, i kept the coil as it was pretty much brand new,
yeah i was just gonna quickly pick a set from halfrauds see if it makes a difference, either way if it improves or stays the same il return them, its just i need them fairly asap! il see if i can pick some up along the way,

I take it you've checked and cleaned/adjusted the TPS and Idle control valve?

tps and ivc were working fine as it was all removed from a working car i bought and drove, will give it another clean tomorrow though,
havnt managed to get ht leads as halfrauds wanted £167, i gave the c191 plug a shot just rereouted the B/Y B/W and R/W wires together directly and plugged the rest of the plug in,
i basically tested the injectors on ignition and cranking prior 2 4 and 6 were at 0.24 whilst 1 3 and 5 were at 11v,
those were the three coloured wires per injector so i hard wired them and sounded slightly better but now theres a whistling noise and a knock and a puff after about 20seconds bad misfire,

I would be inclined to remove each injector in turn and place them in a large jar and check the spray pattern, which should be a conical shape.
Was the engine running well before you put it in, or has it been sitting about in a damp garage for years on end?
Also, was it originally Motronic 1.3, or the earlier Motronic 1.0/1.1?

injectors were sorted by injectortune, engine was running sweet as a nut before!
it was 1.0 originally, got the 1.3 conversion for a 100 or so quid

I presume you fitted the Motronic 1.3 setup in its entirety, complete with the CPS, and removed all the old Motronic 1.0/1.1 stuff (which had two CPS sensors)?
