E30 Zone

Hi everyone!

I have sourced some 16x8j (front) and 16x9j (rear) wheels for my 325i Cab and I am in need of some lows! I'm after a good set of coilovers. Have looked at Gaz and KW, but will I be able to get low enough on these sets? Anyone got any experience on this? Also looked at the cheaper sets like JOM, Prosport etc, any good?

Or could anyone post a link to a thread where people have uploaded pics and put a description of their suspension setup?

Well i have prosport coilovers. There good if you wanna be low but not drive ya car , ive done 3500miles on my set and the front drivers shock is fooked and one rear is leaking ! Bit of a joke really !

Like said above, low enough for what? Driving? You wont want it too low so you can look at 'normal' sort of suspension with springs and shocks...

I've got some FK Konigsports and they ride superbly. Can be made to go pretty low. A huge amount lower than the figures FK themselves give.

Like said above, low enough for what? Driving? You wont want it too low so you can look at 'normal' sort of suspension with springs and shocks...

Thanks for the replies guys but honestly didnt want your opinions on what you think it will look like. Just opinions on different setups. Cheers for the advice on the prosports, ill avoid them. Thanks for the advice on the FK's aswell. Ill look into them!

Anyone else got any usefull advice/recommendations?

I have already decided on coilovers just looking for recommendations on brands. And low enough for there not to be a massive arch gap.

Well what brands to reccomend all depends on a realistic budget really , i mean i i could afford it id have gaz through and through due to not only the quality of them but the service you receive from dealing directly with gaz (mark gazzard) themselves . There not cheap but the do the job ,road or race high or slammed on arsehooole .

Top name brands develop their products to work on your car without negativly influencing other parts of the car or saftey. Therefore will probrably not give you the lowest drop, but they will give you the lowest drop with the best handling. If you get what i mean. The size wheel your using will also influence how low you end up too.

I know someone who has gaz and it can be used at a devent height then wound down to be rediculous ,so much that the car is not moveable

Thanks for the helpful advice, Gaz are top of the list at the minute to be honest. Just trying to source enough funds!

Ive heard / read good things about the Koni sport dampers, just need to get a good set of springs to match. Im either going down the Koni or Gaz route but the Gaz coilys are so frickin expensive (unless there is enough interest for a group buy!?!).
For me overall drop is secondary to performance, my car is used every week and will be taken for hill climb events and track days come next season. I need some quality suspension without having my arseh0le ripped out over the price!

Mine isnt a daily driver as i work away most of the time. Just a summer car really, so I want looks over performance, although I dont want to buy cheap rubbish that is going to fall apart 6 months down the line. As long as I can drop it enough to sit nicely (with minimal arch gap) over some 15's or 16's, depending on what wheels i eventually go for.

Group buy on Gaz would be nice!!
