Just want advise on parts and what needed to get a good set up. I know I need a manifold that's suitible thinking of ussing my original one and having it milled down so I can use the manin fixing plate to the head as its already got the vacum pipe underneath and all holes and bore ready but what carbs are gonna be the best. What else is needed do I need aftermarket ecu or can I go old school and keep it simple and with in budget hopefully

How are you going to clear the brake servo with your re-most carb/pair of carbs?

Well mine was chipped but had to put it back to standerd becuase it run like s**t. Cold start it was reli lumpy and the power difference was none tbf what make of six branch and were from all I can find is lhd ones. Its booked in for custom exhaust next week iv bin reccomended to have a single 2inch bore that's will join from bottom of downpipe to a single box that will give me more tourqe and decent rev range do u think that's about right or am I being swindled

Well I was going mount them on a angle so all the pipes were angled so the left side of the carbs were more towards the front to give me space at the brake end.

pointless mate, youl end up with much induction noise which sounds
however youl need a petrol tanker behind to keep you on the road, the BMW injection system is far superior. as above decent six branch, good service and a chip will see far better power gains

Well I had it dynod at bmw show the weekend and its 169.1 bhp at the wheels with cam and induction kit so its not bad for an engine that's 20 od years old I just want a bit more but I'm having issues with electric why's that no one can figger out its had new blue temp icv checked and working and all that plus a standerd ecu put back on and still the same problem cold start sits at 600 rpm and hot its at 1000 rpm witch is back words reli but can't find any reason for it so I'm stumped and was thinking or taking it back to the old school style of engine with carbs none of this engine manigment ma larky

very good, get rid of the induction kit for the original BMW stuff with a nice new panel filter and that BHP figure will most likely increase,
BMW spent alot on development of thier fuel injection/air intake for the e30 and cone type induction filters sound good but most likely constrain airflow more than the standard kit
im abig fan of carbs mate, my old MK2 rs2000 had twin webber 50s on it, but totally different engine and BMWs engine managment can be easily spiced up, guy on here speed touch does great chips that will do just this,
with your cam, a decent six branch and a chip you will get more power for less money than carbs
