I'm thinking of fitting an e36 stearing rack in my 87 cab as I'm tired of taking to long to make a 3point turn or taking to long to park,as the stearing has become very hearvy, I have taken the bbs 15" off and stuck 17" alpina reps, when the bbs were on had no problems with stearing, now is very heavy. My question is, will I have to get an e36 cab rack, or can a sallon, coupe fit? and what year? As my cab is 87 pre face model or does it not mater what year the e36 rack it is? any help will be appriciated and suggestion.... Thanks

Plenty of people have fitted e36 and e46 racks into the e30. I have an e36 one in mine. To fit it you need a couple of spacers to fill out the space between the two tabs the rack bolts to and custom PS lines which you can get from Danthe on here.
You also need a new linkage to connect the steering column to the rack.

The E46 rack splines are the same so you only need to shorten the steering linkage a bit by removing the rubber guibo.
