Central locking unit

Hi does anybody know how to locate the cntral locking unit on 87 cab I've looked under the glove compartment and under the steering coloum and I'm confused .com. Any help will be most appriciated thanks.

Follow the disassembly instructions in this article, until you get to the photo of the Central Locking unit:

When the speaker is removed, there should be a black plastic piece blocking off the space below, which needs to be prised out before you can reach the locking ECU/ light delay unit. Not pictured or mentioned in the wiki article.

Thanks guys that was a lot of help now put a new cntral locking unit in and lock nd unlock with no problems...

Have you got a picture of it, Brian? Neither of my cabriolets have this.
