Front Strut Bump stops

Getting sick of the bouncy front end (and before the MOT is due) I've finally stripped out my first front strut, slotted in a new B4 into my 325's strut and wonder how the new rubber bump stop sits.
I've oriented the plastic sleeve the same way that it came off but as the original bump stops were nothing more than a soggy sponge I cannot be sure I've got it right.
I've put the bump stop onto the shock's shaft with the rounded bit at the bottom and it seems obvious that the sleeve fits over the bottom of the bump stop and hangs below it - but then does the sleeve locate over the top of the strut leg and large shock securing collar?
Any confirmation that I've got it right would be appreciated as the other side offers no clues as I try to take that apart.
