m52 reving up too 10.000 rpm

I have fited a m52 in to my e30 with a m20 fly wheel and box and we had it in the byno and it bont hit its red line tell 10.000 rpm eny one ever hurd of this befor ?

The ecu is has not been remap yet or chipped

Many times! I suspect your car was previously a four pot, and now the rev. counter is receiving three pulses per turn of the crankshaft instead of the two it was receiving before.
There is a plug in 'chip' on the lower right front of the instrument cluster (behind the trim panel) that needs changing for a six pot one.

I bet it sounds more like 6500rpm, was the dyno man surprised? :)

just abit thay cud not work out y it wos reving so hight it producers 203 bhp at 8500
