Not strictly true! The OP mentioned pedals, and these can be fitted to the existing 'box', which is the same.
It's usually easier to swap the whole thing over though.

The op should just post a wanted ad , within no time people will be tripping over themselves to offer him all the parts for £50 and boast how it is a really easy job that anybody can do in two hours..........*
* It is not

Might also require gear lever boot and bracket for slave cylinder flexi hose.

Bracket for the hose on the body is always there on an auto, and the plastic clips across the bulkhead that carry the brake pipe for the front right hub have a spare section for the clutch steel pipe.
The mention of the gear lever boot reminds me of one other thing - there's a metal clip that secures the auto selector surround at the edge of where the boot fits, and if this isn't removed it will rub against and eventually cut through the gear lever boot.

Good points there Brian, but I beg to differ on the clutch pipe bracket. There was none on the auto I've just converted.

Definitely there on the E30 auto I'm working on at the moment. I've got the wound in the back of my hand to prove it.
Was there on the last E30 auto I converted to manual, as well.

If you already have the correct box, why are you asking about bodging in a M40 box?
