i am going to fita lip spoiler to my pre facelift e30 any tips on paint before i fit it

What lip are you fitting? I've been looking into one myself but can't find one for my chromie..

Paint it Semi-gloss black to match the black sills, you'll note on a chromie that the front lip sits below the line of the paint on the sills so if the lip is colour coded to the rest of the bodywork you ruin the lines of the car IMHO.

Cheap paint option for plastic bits is usually motorbike painters, one single colour and no gravel rash on the panel is like a walk in the park for them to paint !
