What special tools are needed to remove replace rear wheel bearings. I know how to do the job but is there a puller required or is it best to take the hubs off to a garage with a press

If you can get the rear arm off i would 2nd this way as the press will apply equal pressure and safely remove the bearing.
You can press in the new bearing or use a length of m12 or m16 stud bar and some decent sized washers. Plenty of guides online on how to do it.

I took mine to an indy garage who did them both for £180... there are some jobs I can do and some I can't be bothered doing.. wheel bearings are one of those.!
Also after weighing up the cost of buying the tools I needed and the time it would take, I decided to take it to an indy.

take the rear arms to a garage with a press and then either ask them to do it or ask if you could borrow the use of their press for an hour. replace the backplates while your at it.

I've had success with a cone bearing puller in a big slide hammer.
