Hey guys just got myself an E30 '87 :D
problem is when i fill up my tank there is a strong smell of petrol outside and the side of the wheel arch on the right side is full of petrol, but when my car was on a skyjack i noticed that the tank itself is bone dry!
on my first quarter of a full tank i only get out 33k's. 8O
anyone know whatsup?

oh and does anyone have a "map" for the fuse box, the idiot who had the car before me lost it.

re fuel leakage, you have to inspect all fuel lines for cracks. As well, veryfi proper temp sensor operation (then the car is warm, let it idle normally then unplug blue temp sensor, the revs should go up by a lot).

Generally inspect for fuel leakages around fuel pump(s), etc. it's common for old cars, as they getr older, rubber hardens and cracks and hence the problem.

Metal fuel filler pipe from the filler hatch to just in front of the tank commonly rusts out. Remove the offside rear wheel and the plastic wheelarch liner and have a look.
