E30 Zone

I work in the local college and we like to let the kids have a go on some of the jobs on our cars, My motor needed some new engine mounts to alliviate manifold/steering U/J Interface!
I was busy attending to class and another guy was watching over the two students while they did the engine mounts. Ta da no more horrid vibrations when turning left But no idle either!

The had left the ICV hanging out so i pushed it back in but still no Idle.... Having a look about there is a switch underneath the intake manifold which seems to be attached to the throttle shaft one plug is connected, But another wire runs down cable tied to another wire which terminates in a large round plug.

The smaller plug is not connected to anything Im sure it should be, if so where does that wire orriginate from, Im sure they have tucked it out the way somewhere but im damned if i can find it!!
The rubber boot between the filter and intake is also split, Are they only avalible from the stealers?

No, Should have said, She is a manual, im aware the boot will mess up the idle, But first i need to know if this plug should be plugged in. hasnt idled well since the battery went flat and I havent driven her enough distance but now i have no idle at all!!

TPS should have three pin plug. Your description seems to indicate that you have the different TPS, with six pins, that is fitted to switchable autos.
There is a normally unused two pin plug on the branch of the loom that goes to the air meter, that is for emissions equipment.

Ok cool, Thanks for the reply, It does seem to be a six pin plug though the car is back in the lock up now so cannot check, The spare plug is indeed two pin. Ordered new boot for intake today, Have a feeling it may have got torn when they where hoisting the engine up!
