E30 Zone

Looking to lower my 325 sport. It's a 1990 m tech 2 just wondering what set up to go for and roughly how much it's going to cost?
Iv got some 7x16 and 9x16 bbs rs to go on when it's lowered and was thinking about 60/40 sort of height on shock and springs (can't afford this £1000 for propper )

What are you guys running? And where did you buy them from?

60 is too low. you'll never get over speed bumps without smashing your sump... and the bone shuddering noise it makes

This has been covered many times, as sammy says -60 looks cool, but be prepared to learn how to lift your engine and replace your sump pan.! Many here have learned the hard way including me... you'll feel very differently about you 60/40 drop when your stranded on the road side with contents of your sump on the road waiting for a tow truck to come and pick your car up.

I'd say no more than -30 if you want to use it as a road car.

I have just lowerd mine 35m all round on spax shocks and springs, goes over speed bumps fine.

the first thing i did when i got my car a few years back was to lower it 60mm..... it looked crap and handled worse!!!
40mm max for any e30, vulnerable sumps for one and shabby handling for another reason!

my car is now 40mm on g-max gas shocks and springs, i now run 205/50/15 tyres and its fine for road use while keeping the best level of compramise.

I like repeating myself.. It's all about quality of components. This Turd used to handle fantastically. 17's and low..

When I bought the touring it was already lowered 60mm, & it handled like sh*t, but once all the rear bushes were replaced, it was like a different car, much tighter.
60/40 shouldn't be so bad, as long as you respect speed bumps.
As mentioned already, quality of parts is key.

my sport is lowered 60 40 on shocks and springs, speed bumps arent a problem as long as you creep over and dont go at them square on, the front bumper does catch if the road changes angle dramatically ie at a junction from a steep hill but i do live in the hilly yorkshire

no one seem to mention how many rear tyres you will go thought if not done proper mine are 60/40 and it shit i have got new 25mm drop to put on when i have the time
