E46 Steering Rack

I'm trying to buy an E46 Rack, I've given these part numbers to my supplier but they are telling me these numbers are not recognised.
32136755067 & 32136755068

They also told me they seem to think the M3 E46 rack is probably the one to go for. Does anyone know if the M3 rack is as quick as the 067.

It's cheap enough to buy but not that cheap to find I've bought the wrong one.

I gave them that number also. I either need a registration or a chassis number because those number are not working with the software they are using or by directly calling the company that supply the ZF racks. The stupid thing is it's not a lot of money but I need to make sure I get the correct one.

well that prob why they cant find that part number because its a bmw part number its not going to be the same as an after market part thats why it dont exsist

Great, so I need a reg or chassis number from an E46 that had one fitted. That's pretty much killed it.

This should sort you out, I would expect a brand new rack to be £1000 exchange, you're a fool if you buy a brand new item IMHO, your E30 could do with the money spent in other places for sure!!!!

last 7 digits of VIN: PC55152

Tony- if you had a set up for an e36 rack, with the pipes modified etc , could you just use a46 rack instead and just swap the rack , or is there more involved ?

whats needed for a full e46 set up exactly and costs ? and im talking for a non pas car full conversion

that 6755067 is the BMW part number that doesn't come up on real Oem instead it states it as 6755068
we have already given these part number but he said his supplier can't find them they don't exist
these part numbers are for BMW only not aftermarket suppliers which is what he's after

Ebay for these and look for the purple tag and 067 ending part as above. No point getting a new rack, use the money you save else where by going ebay.

I can buy a new rack for 145 quid, obviously reconditioned but I'm not spending a 1000 bones on anything.

Genuine BMW rack?
Id rather have the correct secondhand item than wrong ratio aftermarket?
The one in the Ebay link above will do what you need, probably last for years yet too.

Of course it's genuine, just re-conditioned.

I deal in car parts all day long, I don't buy crap. I just get huge discounts because of the huge quantities I buy.

Dan is getting me a used one, I can't get a new one because of the part numbers don't match up. I'm not going on about buying a new one I'm just replying to a post. I want to buy a new one but sadly I can't guarantee it'll be the one I want.

Be careful they dont touch the cross member Ross, looks a bit close there. Rack should also be mounted in the rear holes 8)

there not touching i think its just the camera angle yeah i know they should be in the rear holes but it wouldnt go bk far enough there was some one else on here the other week that mounted it in the front holes and has done lots of miles still checking that the mounting is still stress free and he said it still looks fine

so ill keep my eye on it :)
