HELP- central locking drama

Hi everyone,

I thought this would be the best place to ask for a bit of advice as I am currently pulling my hair out.

Last week I replaced my drivers side door and the door I was replacing my old one in had no wiring in it so I took the wiring out of my old door and put it in the new one. I connected everything up and everything worked fine. It got dark so I called it a day and today all i had left to do was cable tie the wiring up so it's not in the way of the window coming down and then fit the door card. But when I zipped all the cables up the central locking stopped working. when I press lock it just makes a buzzing noise. There is one plug in the wiring loom which I can't find a plug for in the door for it to go into? It was working last week I don't understand what has gone wrong. My alarm and immobiliser isn't working now either and as a result I can't get the car to start.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as right now i don't know what to do...could it be a fuse? or a relay?

It's just weird because it was all working last week until today when I zip tied the wiring loom up...

Thanks

Red/black wire modification.
Spare plug is for door lock heater/ interior lamp delay.

thanks for the reply.

So what exactly do I need to do ? Should that 3 pin plug remain unplugged? and how do I do the red/black wire modification?

Thanks

Three pin plug isn't used, unless you have either of those options.
For the wire mod., either use the forum search button or the wiki.

The car won't even manually lock...it's as if the drivers side lock is jammed...even when you press the door pin it hardly budges...

I've ordered a new relay...and I am going to try the black/red wire mod...failing this I don't know what the next plan of action is lol

anyone know any good mobile electricians? :/

There's no electrical dead lock on the driver's door - this is a mechanical problem, which you need to sort before starting on any electrical faults.

Hi Fabsp,

I'm having the same problem with my new E30, I cant turn any locks with the key, and cant move drivers door pin. How did you free up the door pin/lock, as I don't want to start any electrical fixes until I do this, going on what Brian posted.

Also my car had genuine remote central locking at some as the key has a push button on it, I'm wondering if this could be affecting it???

Cheers
