slightly noisy open diff

Hello people,
ive got an e30 325i. its got a 3:9:1 open diff. the problem that ive got is that its making a slight noise whenever driving. i believe that the oil in it is crap and want to change the oil.
can anyone recommend any oils that could be used to reduce the noise?
ive got some castrol lsd oil but im not sure if this oil can be used
