ok, i have the 4 speed sports switchable auto box in a 325i touring. and i'm trying to take it out.

been told to undo the three bolts holding the drive plate to the torque converter. HOW???? you cannot get to them through the access hatch in the bottom of the bell housing!

can i just undo the bell housing and take the box off and undo them with the box off? or is the drive plate well and truly attached to the engine output shaft?

HHHEEEELLLLPPPP i need my car back on the road asap! i'm going mental and losing weight from all the walking! :P haha

?????? They're right in front of you if you turn the crank to the appropriate position.

sussed it now. borrowed the american manual off of someone. haynes manual wasn't too specific... now know that you need to take the "reinforcement plate" off. now i've got a picture i know what it is!

special moment over! :P

I'm glad the manual helped!
Can't wait to see it up and running and terrorising West London.

how do fella! :)
yeah man, soon as i opened it to the auto trans page i saw exactly what i needed to do... should of been obvious. but you know... special moments and all that.

after killing the box, i don't think i'll be doing any terrorising! maybe rolling around from petrol station to petrol station, talking to random people just because they have an E30! haha
