E30 Zone

Hello. Just changed the rocker cover gasket and 'half-moons' in an attempt to address an irritating oil leak! Can someone advise whether the ones at the rear at the head should have the half-moon shaped section facing the inside or the outside of the engine? They seem much easier to locate with the larger piece on the outside, and with it on the inside the nearside one seems to foul the camshaft.

Sorry: should say offside camshaft is fouled by the rubber bung if the protruding piece is facing inward, not nearside...
