hi i went to start my car to day and turned the ign on and there was nothing, throught i had a flat battey turned it off and on again and as i wiggled the key the ign came on and the fuel pump primed so i wiggled the key again and it primed again as if i switch the ign off and on, but didnt it was just moving the key a bit. is this a common problem and also would it be a recplament ign barrel or just a case off cleaning some connections, cheers mike

I think the problem is more likely to be the 'clip on' ign switch mounted on the back of the lock barrel.
Remove the lower column shroud and look for the bright orange plastic moulding,it clips into place,to remove, use a small screwdriver.

Right I took the ign switch off yesterday and I unplugged the electrial connector cleaned connections I tested it using a screwdriver and every time I turn the ign on the ign lights came on on the dash, if I turn the ign to the 1st click then to the ign click the fuel pump dosent make a noise, but if I turn the key straight to ign the fuel pump makes a noise, some times dosent prime as long as normal.
When I turn the key slowly it will still start even tho the fuel pump didnt sound.
Is this right or have I got a faulty ign switch, reason I ask is because I am running mega squirt and have a few problems and the ign live is from the ign barrel just wanna make sure it's not that causing me problems
Cheers mike
