Where on the motor should I be spraying the WD40? Then filling up with 3in1 oil?

Is it ok to run the setup I have, spraying the WD40 while the fans are spinning? Could it go on fire or anything?

Do I spray the WD40 where I have circled red in the pic below?

The motor hadn't seized and worked on all speedy, was just a bit noisy, so it's not completely knackered hopefully

Any help would be great

Thanks
Ross

That's the place. Slide the shaft from side to side to help work it in.

Thanks for the reply Brian! Cheers

My fans don't seems to have any side to side play in them?

I have turned the fans so they spin vertically now, so the WD40 can drip into the bearings, doing one side, then turning them round the other way to do the other side

I think there's a tiny gap less than 1mm down the sides of the shafts

Should I be able to see the oil disappearing into the bearing housing? As I don't think I can see much of that happening, I'm just hoping the oil is getting through

I think I'll make a wiki article on this with pictures to help other people once I'm finished
