hey all,
my front calipers need replacing, and I need some help figuring out which ones I need. the car has a 325 setup ( I recently bought 325 disks and pads and they fit fine) I rang up a local motor factors and they said they could be one of 3 options (Lucas, Girling and something like E10)

I've looked at the calipers and can find nothing that's similar to what they mentioned. They have a few numbers on them such as 48/22, The BMW name and what looks like ALF. I'm not sure which they are, can anyone tell from the picture below what I need? (the car is 40 miles away so I cant pop out quickly to get more pics)

thanks

As above, they are ATE calipers. If you are replacing calipers and carriers though I don't think it matters which ones you get, both types should bolt straight on? No doubt someone will be along to correct me if I'm wrong :)

I checked a while back and was told that they're interchangeable, so I have bought a good pair of Ate to replace my Girling originals. Not fitted them yet though so don't take my word.

By the way, Lucas-Girling is one type so the choice is of 2 not 3.

You can refurb your callipers, new seals and rubbers, lick of paint while your at it.

I've ordered a set of ATE calipers now, so hopefully they will be the right ones. I will paint them before they go on the car, it was something I was planning to do with the old ones anyway.

Thanks everyone, you helped a gal out :D
