E30 Zone

How do you tell whether you have a 2 piece or a 3 piece exhaust.
I know my Cabrio is the last year as a VFL (chrome bumpers).
I need to replace the center silencer as it is starting to rust out, so I am looking at doing a complete stainless steel system. Hot tuning manifold to either a Mongoose full exhaust system or the Scorpion. Should there be any fitment issues that I need to be aware of.

At a guess I would do the following:

1 - position yourself side on to the car
2 - drop to your knees
3 - position your head near the floor
4 - turn your head so that yours eyes look towards the exhaust

Seriously though, if you have 2 joins as well as the manifold flange then it's a 3 piece system, one join plus the manifold flange equals 2 piece, I believe you can fit either.

If you are intending to fit a hottuning manifold,you will need just the centre and rear sections of a three piece system.This type of manifold will not fit a two piece system without extesive mods to the front section.

If theres a joint uder the N/S rear axle area then its a 3 piece. Just a quick peek under the rea bumper should suffice.
