Can anyone tell me what is involved with a R134A air conditioning conversion kit.

i,ve looked as mine needs it and you can buy a kit for 45 quid.looks like different valves and oil.as the r12 valves are screw on to fill and r134 are push on thats it as far as i can see.

this is quite simple all you need id the new fittinf that screw on to the r19 holders looklike bikr valves . but you will need a filter when changing the gas

I understood that you can replace the original R12 gas with R413a gas with only a change of compressor oil and dryer filter, without the need for a full conversion kit.
Any truth in this ?

yes this is true but if your changing the oil / gas a service would do it good and you will gettter better results

Ok thanks, TBH I can't really decide if my system needs servicing / upgrading or not.... what should you see in the sight bubble ?
It's a dealer fit system, but contrary to most, I find that it works quite well but I don't reckon it's as good as it used to be. Is there an easy "check" to see if it's running properly?
