Brake Light Warning On Check Panel

On occasions I get the warning light lit on the check panel whilst driving, but when I physically look at the rear of the car they are functioning fine.

Is this a common problem, any connections etc I should look at?

I used to have the same problem on my old 320i, it turned out to be the electrics installed with the tow bar causing the problem.

I had this problem after i'd fitted some Mtech pedals.
Try adjusting the break pedal light switch, its located under the pedal itself.
And when i say `adjust`i mean physically bend the mounting!
Its a bit trial and error.

I had the same problem, sorted it with fitting a new brake light switch.

Brake light switch is a possibility, but not usually the cause on an E30.
More likely to be the connections to the lamps in the rear clusters being a bit tarnished. Also check that your brake lamp bulbs are a "reputable" make. Some cheap lamps draw the wrong current, and can occassionaly trip the warning control unit.
