Boot lock woes

My wife has managed to pull the key out of the boot lock with the slot in the vertical position (locking the boot) now I cannot unlock it, any solutions? I have tried to remove the battery but no joy, also the car does not have a ski slot so I have no way of getting into the boot. Don't want to get too rough with it in case I snap the key in the lock.

Yeah, dump the B**ch. Kick her to the kerb, as the Americans say. This sort of situation is intolerable. Why are you letting her near your car in the first place? You have only yourself to blame.

Yeah I know, she hadn't driven it for years and just decided she wanted to take it out. I don't know what I was thinking about letting her...

Still no luck getting it sorted though...
