noise from the back end

i get a whiring noise from the rear but i cant tell what it is. i have jacked up the rear end and waggled both wheels and there is no movement.what else could i check and how.

I take it it's only when the car is moving? When I stripped the seats out of my old 320 there was a loud noise coming from the rear, which I only noticed when I was driving. But then when I stopped I realised it was the fuel pump whirring away.

i would assume the pump will make a bit of noise.sounds more like wheel bearings or somthing

You could try letting the wife/partner/g/f ride in the front seat instead of in the boot.....

I had a noise from the back end of my E30. . Turned out it was my back end flying out round every corner ; )
