Can you increase the power in an M10 my fitting larger injectors etc? ie 325 injectors (if they are any bigger) into the 1756 M10.

Any other idea's for a cheap way to get more power? even slight increases.

Its fully serviced and the engine is in great shape despite it mileage but i can't afford an engine conversion or turbo conversion at the moment.

There is no point putting more fuel in to the engine unless the engine needs more fuel eg you have fitted a turbo.

Get it running as it should be. Applies to all E30s.

It is running pretty much spot on, just wondering if there were any quick easy ways really as a 1756 M10 Inj 316i is pretty much gutless but good for economy as far as E30's go.

Power gains are never quick, easy or cheap, especially so on small engines! The quickest and easiest thing to do would be to convert to twin carbs I guess. But gains would be small for the investment and subsequent dive in fuel economy.

I wonder if the Jetronic injection system could be made to run an old 2 litre M10 from an E21?

fit bigger engine. Easy, reliable and proven.

He said he couldn't afford an engine conversion :)

Though saying that, getting a twin carb setup installed and running properly isn't cheap either...

Ideally i would eventually go down the turbo conversion route however i an still restoring the car trying to get it back on the road, then it needs a re-spray ( i am doing rust repairs and paint touch ups), that lots adds up to a pretty penny.

New sills, 3 patches, MOT, new bootlid, 1 wing, rear spoiler, wiring repairs, bodywork repairs and rust treatment, alloy wheel refurb, 1 new tyre, service and anything else the MOT throws up on a max £1500 budget. very very tight budget indeed. so far so good. just need paint thinners and the welding sorting out. budgeting £1000 for the welding and the other £500 for everything else (that includes uplift cost getting the car to garage etc for welding and mot) luckily i am reasonably handy with a spanner so service is done, bodywork is about 50% done rust is about 80% exluding the welding. need a heck spoiler and new wing and bodywork is just about done.
