325i Problems starting, idling and misfiring

My car was totally failing to start, changed relay to a good one and didn't work.
What I have to do when it won't start is bridge the fuel pump relay live and then it will start and I can remove the wire.

I changed the blue temp sensor for a new one as well as crank sensor. Dizzy and rotor arm are like a month or two old.

Sometimes when it starts it will misfire and provide black smoke.

When idling from cold sometimes it will sit at 1000revs then when it warms idle at 500 causing it to nearly stall. Sometimes it starts up from cold and stays on 500 revs.

Any ideas or suggestions as this is a massive arse ache now

Fuel pump is fine, Mr RAC man recommended I get it changed but after doing many checks over it today it turned out to be fine and in a perfect working order, to my disappointment.

Instead whilst fumbling around in the dark I bypassed the pump relay for a continuous live and the car started and I drove it home. Upon switching the relay over with another relay of the same type it seemed not to make any difference so perhaps the carrier is damaged.

Although whilst bypassed this did not resolve the idling at 500rpm problem so open for suggestions there still.

Idling issues are usually related to the intake hoses. Check them for leaks.

If it were me - from past experience- I'd be looking at the sparks first of all . Change them or give them a scrape, see how you get on.

I checked all the plugs thursday, and from their dangling position their were sparking extremely brightly to whatever it could centimeters away.
Hoses are all intact, rocker breather under the manifold is just over a month old and fine.

I'm going to give it another 30 mins then call the RAC out for a third time this week to get a solution.

I've had this twice. So frustrating. Once was temp sensor. The time before was the AFM. Idle control valve ok?

ICV was working fine before thursday when i last had it running properly, can't think it'd have gone just like that but maybe?

Blue temp sensor has been changed, AFM was working fine as well, wondering if it needs adjusting?
