I'm wanting to change the gearbox oil in my 318iS. But i'm not sure of the location of the filler. Also what kind of oil is best?

I'm also getting an anoying buzzing noise between 3-3500rpm. Should i replace the camchain tensioner?

Hi mate

The filler plug is on the drivers side of the gearbox, get to it underneath the car by jacking up at the drivers side, make sure the car is safe!!

I use a short length of hose, passed up through the engine bay, and pour the oil through the hose and into the filler.

Oil needed is SAE 80.

Not sure about the buzzing, could be many things, where abouts is it coming from? Buzzing from the gearbox is common on these 16v engines.
