E30 Zone

hi,

Just a quick one,

The engine oil light has shown up on the check panel, what could be the reason for this?
Never showed up before, oil was changed in September 2010, though car has been sitting over winter (5month) could that cause an issue??

Presumably you have checked the oil level and topped up if required ?

I think mine came on when my fan had no shroud on it and the fan went through the wire

Easy fix

Most sensors are reasonably priced even from BMW

Where's the location of this sensor ? Sump?

the oil pressure switch is somewhere about the front of the engine.. as the wire goes in somehere about the fan.. (sorry to be vauge but I am no mechanic) But if its the wire thats snapped, you will be able to see it.

The oil level sensor is about £100

so if its that, then you need to be looking 2nd hand! but anyways its number 7, click it to enlarge.
