Pulsing white noise on radio

The car has just been in for its centre propshaft bearing to be replaced. Lots of disturbance to the heat shields, and exhaust area.
Its come back with a pulsing white noise sound on the radio, especially in medium wave, at the same beat as the wheels go around. Its definitely not the engine or plugs, but it goes slowly when the car runs slowly, and very fast along the motorway, even if I disengage the clutch whilst travelling at speed and let the engine idle for a few seconds
Presumably, this is something to do with the speedo sensor, as I have read on the forum here that the radio and speedo share a fuse circuit.
Anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?
