hi i have two recaro recliners out of a evo 2 i want to put in my e30, my plan was to mod to fit but the runners on the standard seats apear to be part of the seat??

so then i figured i will mod the evo runners like weld them to the floor mod but there mounted on the piss as in one side is nearly two inches closer to the floor.

i could just weld the seats in but id rather them have the sliding adjustment if you know what i mean.

how have you done it

many thanks
Matt

You can make up brackets using 1/4 inch steel plate(i used galvanised)from the local hardware. There are a few sites on the net showing you how to do it.

My, recaros are from an evo 7 and I've adapted the runners to fit the E30 floor. You should be able to remove the runners from the seats though, there is normaly 4 or 6 bolts the hold the runner to the seat base.
If you can get them to separate my runners will be up tor sale soon and should help you bolt them straight in.

If these Recaros are anything like the Sierra Cosworth ones, the Recaro base frame will have an "adaptor frame" (I don't know if that's the correct nomenclature, but it's what I'd call it) welded to it to allow the seat to fit the standard runners.
When I fitted my Cosworth Recaros to the E30, I ground-out the welds, had captive nuts welded in to the Recaro frame and used the Recaro aftermarket runner adaptors to fit the seat to the E30 runners.
Simples! :D
