My 318i feels really light at the front at about 60mph+, I’m not expecting sports car stuff from a 4 door 1.8 saloon but it really just doesn’t feel safe at motorway speeds.

Can someone give me a clue on what I should be checking? I’ve checked the tyres out and they’re fine, but I couldn’t see how they’d cause it anyway.

assuming when you checked the tyres you also checked the pressures the next step would be to get the wheel alignment checked

Any noise or vibration from the front end? Accelerating, braking, turning etc.

Yeah, pressures are all okay.

No noise, but a little bit of vibration at around 40 now you mention it. I might be imagining it though, its very slight.

Well, you should be, because its capable of such!
I'd suspect you have insufficient 'toe in' on the front wheels, but everything needs a good checkover before re alignment, in case there's a specific cause.
