E30 Zone

What would be the best type of battery for my e30 318is.

My battery goes dead if I don't use the car for 2 days, i think the alarm drains it a bit it's and after market one.

A quick look on Halfords and it shows Bosch heavy duty, Halfords own calcium and lead, what are the differences between these?

I have a new job as a wet sprayer and powder coater and its really important for me now to have my car efficient for travelling in.

Which ones have you found to be the best?

Go for the bosch but check the prices at GSF and ECP as Halfords are overly priced.

just be careful to make sure you old battery is actually faulty because if your car alarm is draining your old battery it'll also do the same to your new one although it'll last longer before it's totally flat.

i had trouble with batters not so long ago, i replaced my battery with a cheepie from ECP and it went dead after a few days, returned it and went for a bosch and the same happend. checked for drain and made sure charge was ok, all was good. so took the bosch back for replacement and that died within a week!! then swapped that for an excide battery and its been on there for ages now with no trouble...

the cheepie was a crap battery and for a 6pot i shouldnt have messed around with cheap stuff.
the bosch battery they gave me looked a bit on the small side but they insisted that it was the right fitment but it took only half the battery tray up.. the excide is much bigger and plenty of guts in it.
if you go for bosch from ECP make sure its up to the job amp/size wise

Hi, thanks guys, my car used to last 4 days without use and the battery would be flat on the 4th day, but not its the 2nd day lol

I quite often don't use the car for 2 days as when im with the gf we use hers, such hassle having to jump start all the time.

096 battery for all E30s. Wiring gets in the way a little on 4 pots, but once the battery's in place, it's fine.

Bigger is better

im in the same position with my 318is, the previous owner has fitted a poxy tiny little halfords battery that takes up half the battery tray :S it dies after 2 days!!!

time to get a proper Exide battery i think with mega cranking amps!!!!!!

heres my e30, although had to modify it a little to accomodate the battery , you guys would love a 6 rwd e30 around roundabouts !!!

In spite of the part number, that site claims this is an 096.

In spite of the part number, that site claims this is an 096.

I noticed that, but the terminal layout and size were the same as what i already had. Are you saying it the wrong type?

096 is the correct battery for 325s, and a beneficial choice for any other E30.
