Locked out of my e30!

Hi, ive been having a few problems with my alternator and battery over the past week, the car wouldn't start unless jumped and i took it to an auto electrics and they said my alternator was only charging the battery sometimes. Anyway,I have an aftermarket alarm fitted and it has a seperate fob to open the car up and now there is no power in the battery to open the car! Previously i had left it a over 24 hours locked, and I was able to come back and open it again. I wasn't expecting the battery to drain so fast again. (Probably stupidity and a lack of knowledge on my part)
The ignition key only works the ignition, not to open the car. The only thing I rely on to open the car is this fob and now the battery must be totally drained.
Any advice on how I can maybe open the bonnet, etc. to get the battery out or jump it etc.? I know there are very short odds of being able to do this but I thought it was worth a try.

Sorry, i'm not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean to connect another battery to where the bulb goes on my back registration light? I take it this will power up the cars' electrics again?
Will any size of battery do or does it have to be a car battery?
Cheers

And Brian Moore is the expert - what about jacking up and trying to get at the starter as suggested?

Remove the n/s grille and use a flat-bladed screwdriver in the bonnet release gear.

Malcolm, you should know better, a pm would have done.

My point is not divulging info like that on an open forum.

Straight forward answer to the OP's question,Rav,as a newbie he may well not be aware of the routing of the bonnet release.
FYI,the same thing is published in the Bentley manual, perhaps you should contact them,as well!

Sorry, i didn't see this thread when I done a search. Wonder how much a new key costs?
i'll try popping the bonnet using the screwdriver method tomorrow, when there is more light as I am in lack of a garage or a torch at the minute. This e30 of mine seems to have more bad days than good days but it'll all be worth it in the end!!

@ Daimlerman - I think Rav was talking about the security issue with saying it is all. I may be wrong.

Malcom, not everyone "buys" a Bently unless they have an E30.
Internet is FREE, so more eyes are about.
Does that make sense?????

Rav do you have a key to open the boot? The central locking might just open one of the doors...
