E30 Zone

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if the front and rear fogs on an 89 e30 use a fuse or relay as mine do not work at all. I have replaced all fuses on the car but not touched the relays. Is this an mot failure?

Rear fog not working is an MOT failure - not so sure about fronts. They will be fused.

front fogs are on a relay , k8 , fuses are 29 and30

rear fogs must have a blown bulb as I have replaced all fuses!
If I am looking directly down on my fusebox(nearside) where would the relay be if it is missing.....sorry I sound like a numpty....but I am

front fogs do not form part of an MOT test Ty. the relay for these (k8)* is the top right one when viewed from the n/s/f wing.

* i mean k eight, not k cool

Cheers Adi......I shall inspect tomorrow at some point. I have noticed that some of the motors on here have a full fusebox of relays....mine has a couple missing. I might pm you tomorrow to tell you what ones are missing and if I need to replace them, if thats ok

Some of them are supposed to be empty.

If you look down in the empty slots, the chances are you'll only see one electrical contact, not two. Those are meant to stay empty...

if both the front and rear fogs are not working, the bulbs have been replaced, and the fuses are not blown then i would start looking at the switch
