Hi, ive got an 87 325i sport which has a few issues, ive recently changed the clutch as the biting point felt very high and wasnt very nice to drive, however with a new valeo clutch kit fitted, it still seems alot higher than all my other e30's.....Anyone know what else i can do? Ive bled the clutch.
Im also having issues with the rev counter and dash lights, the rev counter started playing up months ago and now stopped completely, the dash lights were fine and then suddenly went out the other day.
Are there any common spots to look into 1st?
Thank you for any help.

No help to you Mate, but I've got a similar problem with a Sachs clutch I recently fitted. I've put a post up about it here as well.

Dash light total failure, with the RH side and tail lights still working is usually a failed rotary dimmer in the main lighting switch.
Pull out the rear ashtray light on its leads, and use a short piece of wire to connect the brown/white wire to a good earth, with the lights on. If this makes the panel lights come on, the dimmer is blown.

Eh?
When things go wrong there is a wealth of information on the zone and guys with tons of correct knowledge to help us all along. Come on certain guys when something packs up, ask, wait, follow advice and it'll be sorted without much grief.
Then again I'm putting a list together for a car I have to fix the little probs and it's over 14 points already.
For the tachometer, have you checked the connections on the back of the cluster? Do any other gauges or lights behave in a strange way.?

There are two brass nuts on the back on the instrument cluster that can rattle loose and cause problems with the cluster.

yes Dirty the brass nuts if loose will be a bad connection. If your speedo needle jumps all over the place/ stops working/ or gives strange readings it may be worth getting under the car at the differential as that is where the signal for the gauge comes from.

And for an old dog like me is astounding
