Question time

Ive got a F plate 325i convertable with the L-jetronic set up, and when driving it feels like im having to push the pedal overly hard to get it to pick up speed or maintain 30 or whatever in traffic, im not having to floor it or anything but resting my foot on the pedal it doesnt pic up responsivly as others ive owned, engine doesnt misfire or anything and i thought the problem could be the fact the backbox was blowing badly, so i bought another one, meant to be £180 from euro car parts before vat but due to their error (ordering me a 3 piece system back box insted of a 2 piece one like i asked for) i got it for £168 including vat 
which was a bonus but the problems still there
it was serviced not that long ago and is only a 93000 mile engine but its always been the same in the last month ive owned it, just wanting to know and pic your brains to see if anyone knows of any electric parts like idle speed control valve etc or anything else that might cause this
