E30 Zone

just bought another e30, has the check control and the 12 button obc.

i understand that if the bulbs were gone you would still be able to see the display, just not illuminated!

but theres no display at all!!

Also the car dials arent working properly, only the fuel gauge and temp gauge works.

any ideas guys?

The missing speedo and miles-per-gallon-o-meter is probably due to a break in the cable that picks up this info from a sensor on the diff, I believe? This is a common problem, as the cable perishes over time.

hmmm i dont think it would be that as the temp gauage goes off and on, plus the abs lights etc flash when they want. it has a mind of its own.

i will be replacing the whole dials at some point, just trying to work out why the obc isnt powering up!

You could check that the brass nut on the back of the clocks is tight. A loose one can cause problems.
