Hi
Forgive me if this has already been answered on this forum.

Can a 13 button OBC be installed into any e30? I have a 316i '91

Also, are the overhead checklights part of the 13 button OBC, if not can these also be installed too?

cheers

The obc needs the correct chip for a 4 pot.

The overhead check control is separate, not sure what's involved

The overhead check lights are separate to the OBC, but not many people seem to bother retrofitting them.

Overhead check panel is part of the MAIN body loom, only available on 6 pots IIRC. Complete loom swap which is a bit of a mission 8O

Yes it can be done, purchase the whole complete kit and retro fit it. There's a guide in the Zone Wiki

Couple of hours at least i'd say. Just make sure you get a 4 pot coding plug for it or buy a kit out of a 4 pot.

OBC is a simple retrofit.
Overhead check panel requires the whole of the main car wiring loom to be changed, from the front RH corner of the car to the back RH corner, all the way back the LH side, plus several branches, including the fusebox. After all that, there is still no provision for an oil level sensor on M40 engines.
