Hello,

I was wondering how many people here had done this themselves.

I'm considering it for my 320i Auto, but reading the Everett 'Restoring E30's...' book has put me off a little, he mentions problems with access and accessory belts.

I've done mine myself, and i'm sure a lot of people on here have too. Once the radiator is out and the fan is off (these take no more than 15 mins! ) then there is plenty of access! The 'accessory belts' are easy and the actual timing belt itself isnt too hard to remove and refit. Just make sure you know what you're doing regarding timing marks etc, which again are simple to understand.
there are plenty of guides on here and other websites which will walk you through it.

Also it is definitely advisable to change the water pump too.

Cheers, it seems the book overstates the trickyness - the online guides seem easy enough.
