E30 Zone

Hi all,

I have just started to try and drift a BMW e30 320i but the body roll is making me feel a little sea sick... lol. I want to upgrade the suspension but don't have £1000+ for fully adjustable coilovers. I need to decide on what is best for the car. These are my two chooses a reckon:

The main thing I need to know are the £529 worth the money or should just buy the £195 then safe up for the the proper coilovers.

Its worth the money for the coil overs as it does make a difference to the set up as you can adjust the ride for a more stiffer aggressive stance, this would be for the likes of track days, using the coil-overs in the same way on the roads would do more harm than good if not set up properly, you would have to be prepared to play with the coil-overs alot to know what you set ups would be for different events or conditions.

Personally, if your going to drift round local area's and have the odd track day, I would go for the jamex but have some bump stops fitted so you don't blow the seals on the shocks all the time.

When considering changing your suspension setup to a lower stiffer ride, you should also be changing the likes of the anti-roll bar to a stronger new one and linkage size to accommodate the drop in ride height (Linkage will not last long at all standard.) and look to strengthen the chassis with the likes of strut braces front and rear.
