Hoping for a little bit of useful advice on this. After lookinng under the car its very apparent my exhaust system needs addressing. I definetly need a new rear section, and was looking at replacing the whole system all together. My understanding is that its a two piece set up, with a cat. in the middle.

Im getting some dodgy noises from the cat. too, so im looking to replace/remove that.

I need to do all this as cheaply as possible- so looking at the option of removing the cat. completely, as I know they can be expensive to buy a replacement.

Is there a specific de-cat pipe to join the two exhaust sections that i can buy, or is it something thats custom made?

If anyone has any suggestions on where to get parts/or any good systems to use as a replacement i'd be extremely grateful..

:)

hello
i am in exactly the same situation as you. my exhaust is shot. its got to be the original from 91. i have looked all over to see if there is someone that makes a de-cat exhaust for this car but my searchings have been fruitless.
i have now bought 2, 2.25in silencers from a company called merlinmotorsport, they are based at castle coombe racing circuit and am (on wednesday) going to fabricate my own system from the end of the manifold back. if it all goes well and to plan i will take some photos and post them up here and maybe could make a jig so that if anyone wanted one made it would not be too difficult.
hope that helps
