Hi there

i've just bought my self an e30 and been having a prod round. Found a hole coming from the rear boot well and its starting to protrude through the back below the tow loop. I want to take it all back and sort it but does anyone know what the stonechip stuff is or where you can get it? The stuff with the rippled effect. Cos i don't want to take it back then have a random patch with no chip defence stuff on it.

Cheers

I would say look in car vendor for stone chip stuff then some matt black paint and masking tape to match it all in... well thats what would do anyway

'Stone chip' is readily available from any motor factors under that name.
It is applied with a 'Schultz' gun, and it's down to the skill of the operator to get an exact match of the dimple effect with the original.

Halfrauds sell it in an aerosol. It gives the exact same dimpled finish as you get from the factory stuff.
You can also overpaint it with body colour once its dry. Takes 24hrs to go off though. Try to paint over it before that, and the top coat will crinkle.
Just used several tins after welding up my wifes MX5
