Hi,
planning on Diy bleeding.....
Is it as simple: bleeding the furthest away from the master cyl and continuously toping up with new fluid, as you go along never letting the rez get empty. While some pumps the brake pedal
or is there a different approach to bleeding with an abs system. Dose it need bleeding seperate???
Will be using the 2 man bleeding technique.
89' 325i cab , if it makes a diffrence.
Use Ate dot 4 super blue or sl.6(dot4) class 6 sold at eurocarparts?

Bleeding an E30 ABS pump is extremely difficult, but as long as the ABS isn't activated when there is air in the system, it won't need bleeding. In practice, the procedure is the same for ABS and non ABS cars.

how do you mean, active when bleeding or been active just before bleeding?
will the new fluid pass through the abs pump ? will be flushing the old out and in with the new fluid.

If a leak emptied the fluid reservoir and one half of the brake system, and the first that you knew about it is when you applied the brakes while driving, it's possible that the ABS would activate, and let air into the depths of the ABS pump.
Under normal circumstances, changing the fluid will cause no problems, as the fluid will just pass straight through the pump.

i used a pressure bleeder and gently pumped the pedal at the same time when i replaced all the rear pipes and lines on my car with no issues at all.

Anyone used a block of wood between the pedal to prevent it from going all the way down and the seals from getting worn?
