Sensor is(should be!)located in the n/s brake air duct, accessable from underneath the front of your car.Could also be a broken wire in the circuit....

Cannot remember the wire colours off the top of me head, but the temp sensor wire enters the car under the fusebox, through that big grommet, and I think there is a connector there,if you check the wire colours at the sensor, then drop the glovebox and it's trim panel and have a hunt among the spagetti for the same two wires you can then check them for continuity.

Colours are brown and blue - the same as UK mains flexible cords.

Just touching the two wires at the sensor end and observing the result at the obc end should tell you whether there is a break in the wire or significant corrosion at the sensor, no?

don't try this till an expert posts though!

That should put it off of the scale at the opposite end, but won't do any harm.-
The problem is very likely to be within 6" of the sensor.

All of mine have had either corrosion or broken wire within 6" too. Good news is the sensor comes apart
