Just a quick one, can you get leaking shocks repaired and is it more cost effective than buying a new replacement? I've heard of people getting shocks re-valved?!?

The shock in question is a rear Koni Sport Adjustable so would be £90 each

Cheers

Charlie

I no Bilstein offer a repair service for there higher quality dampers but it cost nearly as much as a new damper

Is this through general wear and tear or is it a faulty shock? they offer a life time warranty i think

I've just fully rebuilt my Leda coilovers and as far as i know these are similar in principle to the Koni units - however i don't know if the koni's are designed to be opened up after manufacture. Mine have a screw in top cap that uses a peg spanner.

well worthwhile though, mine have unknown mileage / age and had one slightly bent rear piston rod, all 4 piston rods were corroded and pitted, the seals had all failed and they were all leaking due to seal wear (from the pitting) and bearing wear allowing play. it's fair to say they were very old though! :D

£300 later (new bearings, new seals, new pistons - machined to order etc) and they're fully sorted again and ready to be refitted :)
