Hi

Could some one tell me how i can tell if my G reg 318is has an LSD? its off road at the moment so cant drive it to check, are there some numbers or something i could look for ??

there should be a tag on the diff it should begin with S then the ratio. Off the top of my head if its got a LSD the ratio should be 4.10 so the tag on the back plate should
read S4.10
if not the only way is counting the turn ratio and if both wheel turn in same direction once the car is jacked up
and go and get spec from local BMW dealer

i was having trouble finding out if my is had a lsd found out it did and it was a 4.10 mine is on a h plate yours should be the same

Just checked mine on my 1990 318is and it just reads 4.10 without the 'S' prefix. Would I be right in assuming then that this is a non-lsd model?

yip just an open diff im afraid.
